Literature Text

Your love is a testament of something more,
of lands ahead kept unexplored,
yet your love is anchored to a bay,
where everyday is yesterday.

Your love is the trade winds when the sea stands still,
and when caught in a storm your love is gentle,
but it seems only one can conjure the winds of change,
the eloquent song of the mermaid.

Your love is written in my captain's log,
and your love is the beacon that cuts through the fog,
yet it seems this lighthouse was built for another,
for a very different night's passenger.

Your love is the magnet on my ship's compass,
jumping back and forth with promise.
Your love leads this ship on,
when the stars of night have gone.

Your love is the North star shining bright,
bringing this ship back home each night.
But being in your love,
is something I can only dream of.

IT IS COMPLETE.

This entire poem started off with the thought: "Your love is amazing, HA, who am I kidding? Your love isn't mine."

Well then, time for a long emotional whirlwind which ends up with someone getting hurt, most likely me. I guess I'm afraid of what happened last time.
