Detached from their tree,
the leaves are set free.
In soundless grace they fall,
writing in an ancient scrawl.
Red placed here, green over there,
arranged by currents in the air.
In a dance so profound,
they twist, turn and hit the ground.
Their beauty found in disarray,
as zephyrs whisk them away.
Yet to branches some still cling,
defiant of the wind's whispering.
They feel as if they have no part,
yet writing comes from the heart.
Come hither my little leaves,
set free upon the breeze.
Come and find your worth.
